Yamanashi prefecture is perhaps one of the best areas in Japan for enjoying the relaxing onsen or Japanese hot springs due to its natural mineral rich waters that flow from Mt. Fuji, Minami Alps, and the Nagano Alps.
The Kofu area has some of the best onsen in Japan due to its central location surrounded by mountains and rivers flowing from the Minami Alps, Nagano Alps and Chichibu Mountains- this magnificant mineral rich water is renowned for its relaxing, soothing and healing properties.
Kofu city is unique in that it features numerous authentic onsen Japanese hot springs and is often called Kofu Onsenkyo or Kofu Hot Spring town. Some of the japanese spa areas are Isawa onsen, Yumura onsen and Shomobe onsen.
